Online Tax Return

The Canada Revenue Agency is starting the process of the Canadian income tax returns at the middle of February.  No matter how early you file, you will not be able to get information on the status of an income tax refund until the middle of March. You should also wait until at least four weeks after you file your return before checking on the status of an income tax refund.

 

Processing Time for Tax Refunds.

The time length of the process of tax return is depends upon the taxpayer when and how the taxpayer files tax return to CRA with counting of tax refund.

(1) To pay the accurate amount of income tax owed.

(2) To pay back overpayment of benefits such as Employment Insurance.

 

 

Although, the income tax returns filed using NETFILE.  There is a list of restrictions for different types of returns can file using the Internet.  For example, taxpayer cannot use NETFILE

• To file a return other than for the current tax year
• I f taxpayer is a non-resident of Canada
• If you are in bankruptcy
• If taxpayer have not file a tax return with the CRA in the past years.

 

How Canada Revenue Agency Receives Your Return

There are two ways to file Tax Return Online.  One is the traditional way.  You print off a copy of your return and mail it to CRA.  The other way is via online.  You transmit your tax return to CRA via online.  This online filing process called NETFILE.  NETFILE allows you to file only your own tax return.  You cannot transmit tax returns on behalf of others.  In addition, you need an access code to use NETFILE.  To learn more about NETFILE and access code, click here.
